Rental Assistance Programs
Catholic Charities administers several grants aimed at helping individuals and families stabilize their housing situation. Read a summary of each of the programs below and contact your county’s Catholic Charities Family and Community Services Center for eligibility information and to schedule an appointment.
HPP is targeted at middle income individuals and families and offers one time only financial assistance to those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Funding can be used to pay security deposits, first month’s rent, and rental arrears up to 3 months.
HPRP2 is an intensive case management program that assists families or single individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
For those who are homeless, the program can assist with a security deposit and up to a year of rental assistance. For those at risk of homelessness, the program can assist with up to three months of back rent payments and up to three months of rental assistance moving forward. For both categories, recipients are reevaluated every 90 days to assess income levels and compliancy with their case manager’s action plan. The intensive case management offers budgeting and credit report coaching. The goal is self-sufficiency for the client and addressing each client as a whole person.
SSH offers temporary financial assistance with rental arrears, utilities arrears and food. The program is targeted at working families who are at risk of becoming homeless.
This program offers temporary financial assistance with rental arrears, utilities arrears and food. Eligibility requirements differ from those of the Social Services for the Homeless program.
