HIV/AIDS Ministry PDF Print E-mail

On July 1, 2007, Francis House moved from a program of Catholic Charities, the Diocese of Camden to a parish based ministry of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, with the help of the Franciscans of Holy Name Province.  Catholic Charities, Francis House and St. Anthony’s truly believe that this is a win-win situation for all involved: clients, who will receive more services both at Francis House and at Catholic Charities; the staff of Francis House, (both paid and volunteer) who have always identified more with the Franciscans, and would now come under their supervision; and Catholic Charities, who will be able to redirect some funding in order to better serve clients and parishes throughout the Diocese.

Catholic Charities will continue to provide assistance to those infected and affected by HIV through our Family and Community Centers, located in each of the six counties we serve.  Additionally, St. Anthony’s, the Franciscans and Catholic Charities will continue to look for opportunities for collaboration to best serve those in need in the city of Camden and the surrounding areas.

If you are in need of assistance, please contact the Family and Community Center in your county.  If you would like additional information about the services we are able to provide or would like to make a donation, please contact Jennifer Dyer, Program Director of Disaster Relief.

Catholic Charities provide vital social services to people in need, regardless of their religious, social, or economic backgrounds.   We provide social services to, advocate for, and empower the poor, oppressed or vulnerable.  We do this on a non-discriminatory, non-sectarian basis throughout the six southern New Jersey counties.
