Dear Members of the Board of Trustees and Diocesan Directors:
I just wanted to be sure to share with all of you the very eloquent and very rewarding remarks made by Brian Williams, anchor of NBC Nightly News, at the University of Notre Dame’s commencement this past Sunday. Clearly, his comments are testament to all we do and to all of our people. Please share them warmly and widely.
“Wherever I’ve come across people suffering and dying, I’ve also found Catholic Charities right there standing alongside them, ministering and soothing, helping and healing, without regard for self. Every one of them a shining towering example of sacrifice and selflessness Let’s make that what people think of when they think of the Catholic Church in America.”
- Brian Williams, Notre Dame Commencement, May 16, 2010
With Notre Dame’s permission, we have posted his remarks and a link to the video on our Web site at http://www.catholiccharitiesusa.org. This endorsement from a media person of his stature is a very special gift of motivation during our Centennial. I have sent a personal letter of thanks to Brian Williams.
Warmest blessings,
Fr. Larry Snyder
